Babies have been naughty ever since there were babies. Here a little boy is finding out his limits. Boys in 18th Century America were dressed the same as girls until about the age of three, when they were breeched- or put in breeches. This child is from a middle class family and is seated in a high chair. Original highchairs are rather rare; the one show here is currently in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg.
