Washington's Headquarters

Washington's Headquarters by White Historic Art

During the Winters of the Revolutionary War George Washington was typically invited to stay in the private home of a local patriot while in “Winter Quarters”. For the majority of the time, though, he brought his home and office with him, in the form of a large “marquee” tent. Working late into the night in the crowded tent he has a visitor about to enter- his young protégé, General Lafayette.
