"Weedon's Run"

Original Oil 24"x30" -price on request

Answering General Washington's call to reenforce the right wing at Dilworthtown, General Greene sent Brigadier General George Weedon's Brigade, comprised of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th,, 10th,and 14th Virginia Regiments and the Pennsylvannia State Regiment. The troops made a remarkable maneuver, covering hilly terrain at the pace of 3 or 4 miles in 45 minutes. The average speed of walking is about 3 miles and hour on flat ground...they trotted to engage the British, and Weedon's Brigade arrived to "give the enemy such a check as to have the desired effect."
