The smoke begins to clear from the glen...the engagement lasted only 15 minutes, but started America's first world war. An encounter with a party of French "diplomats" ended in a short battle , taking the life of the leader, Jumonville. His brother arrived later with reinforcements to find Washington & his troops dug in at the well named but ill fated Fort Nessecity...thus the start of the French and Indian War.
