"Forage Party"

Original Oil framed 18"x24" -$2,200

One of the perils inhabitants of America faced during the Revolution was that of the foraging party. The English were widespread in their foraging , sometimes paying for goods, sometimes not. In 1776, Congress gave Washington the right to send foraging parties throughout the countryside, yet he refused, knowing that he could not rob his countrymen, and then ask them to serve the cause.
